Chippewa Middle School’s team members represented Minnesota at the National Future City Competition in Washington DC during Engineers Week, February 14-20, 2010. The team’s future city, Jijiamani, is a gateway to green design due to its innovative concepts and features. From fold out roof expansions on mid-city buildings to multiple tree root based structures called Tree-Easy Homes, Jijiamani features engineering details that have “structural integrity, functional and aesthetic design and energy conservation.”

The students were proud to receive awards for Best City Model and Most Innovative Energy.
