Young Inventors Special Awards: April 4, 2009

  • Bryce C., Max Multi Tool, Deerwood Elementary: “Innovation” Award presented by Leslie Kampf for 3M
  • Joan Y., The Shoe Elevator, Rosemount Elementary: “Da Vinci” Award presented by Bob Monson and Peggy Mullikin for Lockheed Martin
  • Emma C., Wheelchair Cell phone Case, Bluff Creek Elementary: “Improving Quality of Life” Award presented by Erik Van Guilder of Medtronic, Inc.
  • Anne M., Lure Launcher, Bluff Creek Elementary:Thinking Outside the Box” Award presented by Mike Feller for the Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association
  • Zachary R., zTech Weather Robot, Anthony Middle School: “Excellence in Electrical Engineering” Award presented by George Hennum for the Square D Foundation of Schneider Electric

The Science Museum of Minnesota displayed six YIF inventions from April 7 - May 25. The "Extended Exhibit" awards presented by J. Shipley Newlin Jr. and Shari Hartshorn for the Science Museum of Minnesota are:

Erin Holt, student volunteer for the Young Inventors Fair for the last ten years, presented the Young Inventors Choice Awards to:
